Writing101

In this course, we learn about and practise writing in many genres. The first 30-minutes of class provide an opportunity for students to read aloud their work and get feedback from peers and staff. During class, students will have regular writing exercises based in the lesson of the evening.  Writing assignments (aka groundwork) are given after the Monday lecture, and students are encouraged to complete and read aloud their work during the Thursday tutorial. Any writing submitted will be returned with feedback the following class.

By the end of the course, students will have learned the vocabulary and practices of writing for personal, creative, academic and professional purposes, helping to organize, revise and style writing with new levels of expertise.

Monday lectures run from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Thursday tutorials from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.
